Had our "16" EB to the dealer for an oil change and to check the AC--which seemed not as cold as it might be.

A few hours later I got the call--refrigerant level was full, tested for leaks- found none, vent temp was mid 40's but the ambient temp was only 70.

Yesterday, out for a drive with the ambient at 85F., the air coming out of the center vent at max seemed cool but not cold.

At the the 85Deg. ambient temp level, what should the temperature of the air be coming out of the vent, according to the specs?
Thanks for any help.

Ford has relatively weak HVAC systems. They take forever to warm up in the winter, and forever to cool in the summer.

It's just what it is.

As a general rule;
With the A/C set on high and recirculate the air temp measured at the center vents should be a minimum of 30 degrees below the ambient temperature.
70 degrees should be 40 or below
85 degrees should be 55 or below.
Some systems work considerably better than 30 degrees difference but 30 is the minimum you should see.

After sitting in the lot, even with sunshade, at 90 degrees (100 heat index), it takes the car a minute to cool off. Slower than my Honda Accord, but not terrible I guess.

My mustang is noticeable slower cooling than my old Hyundai was but cools quicker than my wife's last acura or her new jeep. If I'm in the shade it's quick but in parked in the sun it takes a few minutes.

Just tested it with a meat temp probe--the three middle vents were right around 43 deg. in a hot car with ambient temps around 80.

The delta for most A/C systems is 30-40F. The other day, it was 91F outside, and my air was blowing between 42-44.2F
