I'm not a drag racer, so what does having more gears, closer-spaced gears (which keep the engine 'up on the pipe' at higher rpm, making more power in each gear -vs a 6spd that has a higher rpm drop), and faster shifting play on trap speeds? I'm not an expert but I would imagine that it would increase trap speeds.

If so, you cannot look and compare the 2018 10spd Auto's trap speeds to a 2015 manual (or even auto) and call the speed increase due to just an increase of power.

I've seen 15-17's usually trap between 109-113, so even if 117 is on the fast end than that's at least 30 HP advantage. I do think the manual will run 0.4-0.5 seconds slower than the best hero run automatic. So I'm expecting 12.3-12.4 with the same trap speed.
Which would put it right in line with the Camaro SS/1LE

Hero run automatic?

They achieved three runs, far from a hero run, they going to be running in the 11's stock as other owners get them and visit other tracks and tweak the stock tyre pressures and perfect launch technique more.

Even though I knew that auto-rev matching wasn't going to make an appearance for this new transmission, I was remaining hopeful.

I didn't hear it in the video, and would have to believe that he would have mentioned it had it been a feature :(

Amazing. Never met a person that was an expert on everyone else's life.
See it's all that time you spent in those Ford Escorts.........You've just never met the right people.

We'll spend your money for you too, all you have to do is ask the right way. Hell, you don't even have to ask. Lol

Kidding aside, I understand some people have no intention of ever hitting the track, dragstrip or otherwise.

117mph terminal speed says otherwise, just face it, MY18 is vastly quicker than MY15. :)

Agreed, and that's a good thing! It would be a disaster if the 18 would not be quicker than the 15-17. I know, the 13-14 is actually quicker than the 15-17 but Ford nailed it with the design on the 15-17. Now it was time again for performance to get a bump, not the design (obviously) :D

Good Job AMERICAN MUSCLE on your video. Adam also did well but he might want to back off on the coffee, seems like he was off to the races but still a nice presentation.
I have read all the responses so far and here is my opinion: I can not wait for my 2018 GT Premium 6 speed to get here. Oxford White With the premium leather in Midnight Blue.
I have been around the block a few times as I just turned 74 yrs old. I have dragged raced at the track and on the street, I have modded more cars than I like to remember. So I could care less about Dyno figures, horsepower numbers , who is faster, you get the idea. I love the new look the front is Killer, the chrome pony not so much. Spoiler delete is the way I roll and the Forged alum wheels are what is ordered.
I just want to row through the gears on the open road and in traffic listening to my active exhaust and my favorite tunes, play with all my new options, and enjoy my ride.

15-17 looks better though......
Yeah. Darn shame they went the wrong direction. This would annihilate more Chevy supercar sales if it kept the big looks advantage.

What's being referred to, I believe is "no-lift shift," which means that you can shift the manual without lifting your foot off of the accelerator.
