Following an unfortunate serious or events that stemmed from rogue debris of an unsecured load, I am now in the market for a new hood. I’m planning to pair it with a M1/GT500 bumper so I’m looking into a style of hood that isn’t stock. Outside of saving a small amount of weight, is there any real advantage to carbon fiber? If it matters in this case, I absolutely plan to paint match to my ingot silver.

No potential corrosion issues with CF. CF will save weight as well but you will need hood pins with a CF hood. Those are probably the big ones IMO. And the CF looks cool, although if you plan to paint it that’s not really a factor for you.
