This is going to show my age and granny driving habits. I commute to work 3 days a week in my GT350 and in the mornings I leave the exhaust in quiet mode and I just quietly and benignly cruise to work, listening to news and waking up. Coming home in the afternoon I typically open up the exhaust and drive a bit more sporty to entertain myself. Well, this morning while quietly cruising along a freeway access road another car pulled out in front of me and just crept along, so I pulled into the other lane to pull around and realized the two lanes were merging pretty quickly - requiring that I give the car more throttle (I think in 4th) to pull around. As I did so the exhaust opened up with a roar. First time I've experienced that - exhausts opening up in quiet mode under throttle. I experimented a couple more times and each time the exhaust opened up on their own.
Is this a normal operation pattern? A bit embarrassed to have driven the car for a year and never accelerated hard enough on my morning commute to have discovered this.
