Car is in neutral, parking brake on
Move the driveshaft and the half shafts both move about 1/4 inch. Looks like just the inner and not the whole shaft.
Find it hard to believe this is normal. Possibly bad CV joints on both sides?
Torsen differential with 3.73, Ford performance halfshafts.
This us causing a thunk when initially letting out clutch and I am pretty sure cause of a thunk when powershifting.

My thoughts on the subject would be a potential loss of pinion bearing pre load related to the stock crush sleeve which has now changed your backlash allowing the clunk. Hard launches or manual shifting with increased power on our cars can certainly do that. Hence my second rebuild on the second differential haha.

It may only be showing on the inner boot as the outer wouldn't turn with ebrake on.

I had another clunk and a squeak that turned out to be my rear diff bolts trying to back themselves out again! Sorry if that's not too helpful. I wouldn't think they would both wash out on you simultaneously.
