'23 order banks open again?

I've been frantically looking around the country for a '22 or '23 convertible with a manual and a B&O stereo, as everyone has said the order banks for the '23s closed in December.

I've been weighing a few different low-mileage used options, as well as new dealer stock that isn't exactly what I want. Today I went to a dealer here in Atlanta to look at used model, and they said that the '23 order banks were open. Does that sound right? Can anyone confirm this? I don't want to waste my time placing an order that won't get filled and then lose out on the models I've been looking at...

The last I saw on the Blue Oval website is 23 production ends 2/28/23. If that still holds the order banks are not going to reopen.

Possibly. The info on BO was last updated end of December. I think the member that provides the updates no longer has access to production info.

Unless they have a dealer stock order without a build date… that can be switched to your specs, but seems too late for that?

Balance out is in March for MY2023 according to Ford Pro, and a dealer on M7G has shown a screen shot of March 31 being the balance out date. Take it with a grain of salt, the MY24 dates are wrong, but I have been told they are typically correct.

what’s ‘Balance Out‘ Date?

If your order is in, you're GTG.

"Balance Out" is Ford's method of scheduling remaining current MY production before scheduling for the next MY's production.

Some explanations from other forums:

"Balance out is end of scheduling for the model year. Doesn't mean that they will have everything to build all [current MY] currently ordered. So after [balance out date] the next round of scheduling will be for [next MY] models."

"Its the date that Ford balances out their remaining orders. So all orders before balance out should be accepted, all orders taken after balance out fill in the production schedules and then cut off. "

Dates involved can help anyone interested in determining 1) when the last 23MY cars will be produced and when 2) 24MY production will begin.
