Are the places that you go for automotive design as inept as the rest of the higher educational system? Because the angular cut in the headlights not only requires the fender to be retooled, it eliminates the ONLY reason for the crease along the bodyside to exist (on the '15-17s, that line begins at the brow of the headlamp).

In other words, before anything else, the redesign is a failure in both design and production cost frugality.

And I haven't even started with the grill yet (but I have now). It looks like someone sat on the hood of a '15-17, flattening the whole thing and mashing the grill out to the sides. Or more likely, someone found out that they could scale just the X axis in AutoCAD and just ran with it.

And the strangest part of it - it looks like they weren't even trying. It's too utterly subtle for the average person to even notice; yet, it is full of minor changes likely to piss off those who actually care. Strange marketing there...

Either that, or there's someone in Ford's design studio who has approval power despite a questionable level of creative intelligence.
