Hello Fellow Mustang Owners/Researchers,

The purpose of this thread is to follow my build progress as well as keep a detailed list of what is installed on the car.
This car is coming from a completely stock set up except for a basic tune from VMP as well as a Rousch intake.
Right now, the car is sitting at 69K miles and no mechanical issues at all.

We started the build on Feb 24th 2024. This has been extensive learning process for both myself
and my installer who builds fox body mustangs.

Here is a detailed list of what is/has been installed on the car so far:

Hellion twin turbo - top mount - 62mm turbo kit
Borla Atak with X pipe
MGW race spec shifter
Mcleod RXT clutch 1000HP
aluminum 1 PC drive shaft
Upgraded Half Shaft - both left and right
1000 CC injectors - HIGH-Z impedance
VMP billet Fuel Rails
Steeda Stop the hop kit
Steeda rear diff bushings
Turbosmart Eboost2 boost controller with 3d printed vent insert
VMP boost a pump
NGK 6510 Spark Plugs
rear tires - 285 firehawk indy 500's - installed way before the thoughts of adding the above parts.

At this point, we are working on installing the Eboost2 controller, injectors, fuel rail, and sparkplugs.
This should be complete by this weekend.
In regards to a tune, we are working with Adam @ Core Tuning out of NY.

Obviously, this car will not be able to hold traction with the current rear tire set up (listed above).
therefore, i am open to any suggestions on rear tire setups for rolling street pulls.

thanks in advance for any advice, comments, or concerns that many of you might see!

Small Issues with the Hellion Twin Turbo Kit:

Received incorrect Turbo Mount Brackets - Photos Above
Missing the GATES 20686 & 208479 hoses
Missing second Oil pan fitting

Other than that, Hellion Turbo has been extremely responsive with any issues that we have encountered!

10/10 would recommend!

She's going to be a little ripper!! It's going to be a whole different animal when you put it back on the ground for sure. Depending on boost level you are going to want a sticky rear, probably a 17 inch so you have as much side wall wrinkle as possible. If you plan to get caught in the rain on occasion, I would go with either a Mickey Thompson Street R or a Nitto NT05R in at least a 305 width.

Also, you MAY want to move this thread to the build section, not that it matters to me ( and I don't carry any weight around here at all), but people who are looking for builds look there.

Awesome, ill look into those tire options!
Not sure if i want to spend the money on Welds as this will be driven maybe 2-3 times a week.
I keep going back and forth if the plan should be keep two sets of rear tires.
First Set being the every day driving and the second set being the "going to shows/driving aggressive set"

Here's a nice budget friendly wheel that Terry at @beefcake has on his site. Reach out to him and his guys, they are very helpful.

https://www.beefcakeracing.com/vms-vwst013/

I get you on the tires. You can get a nice drag radial for the street and a set of Hoosier slicks for all out drag racing on a prepped track with the VMS wheels in the link above, and it won't break the bank.

Cool build , love all the pics. I’ve always wanted to see detailed pics of where all the piping goes On a top mount. I’ve just got a built/sleeved motor for my 2017 im very keen to turbo once the bank balance recovers haha.

what points made you choose top mount over mid mount set up ??

cheers

Tim,

Congrats on the built motor!

I Chose the top mount set up over the "sleeper" set up because if im going to pay tons of $$$, i want to be able to see it!

If you do not care, i would recommend the sleeper kit.

That’s a very valid point. :sunglasses: . I went in a custom twin top mount 2017 , 6 months ago , so fun. 650 on low boost , 750 RWHP on 10lbs pump gas (our 98) similar to your 93.
I really liked the part throttle sound and response.

UPDATE:

Ordered New tires (Mickey Thompson P305/45R17 ET Street R Drag Tires) and new rims (VMS 17x10 Rear Street Drag Race Wheel) from Beefcake Performance on Wednesday April 24th.

The tires have been delivered yesterday and the rims will be delivered today!
Cant believe the quick turn around with processing my order and shipping the same day!

I would love to see pictures of the 3D printed E-Boost 2 vent pod if you don't mind?
Love the pictures and great progress! Looking forward to first drive reactions and how she does set on kill 😁
You going to dyno it or run it down the 1/4 when you get it dialed in?
