I had one of the best days of my life yesterday picking up my GT350 (ordered 6/12, built 10/21) at Harold Zeigler Ford in Lowell, MI. I was very lucky: yesterday was a dry, sunny day here in West Michigan. Today: 5 inches of snow forecast.
First thing: there's been a lot of talk about fit and finish and cosmetic issues. If my car is any indication... "Don't Worry - Be Happy!" I have detected absolutely no quality issues whatsoever and my first 48 miles were heaven on earth.
Car arrived by Cassens Transport trailer at 10:30 AM (was scheduled to arrive at Noon per their draft delivery receipt). When I got to the dealership about 15 minutes later there was a crowd of dealership employees standing around the car taking photos. I learned later that before I signed the check that eight of them had already posted photos of the car on Facebook.
Everybody at the dealership treated the car just as you'd want them to. A lot of special care through the whole process.
Took the dealer's lead tech guy (Dan) about 30 minutes to install the splitter (would have been faster but he had to use a floor jack to assist getting the lift arms under the rear sides). He was very careful and did a great job. After checking the tire pressure and wheel lug nut torque, etc, it was time for a 4 or 5 mile PDI drive. They said I could drive and the tech would just ride along. But, I told him he could drive it and I'd ride with him: I think it made his day!
They carefully removed and saved all of the exterior stickers for me. Took special car in the wash bay (thank you Brad). Although they normally polish a car before delivery, at my request they just did a careful wash.
I will post a bunch of photos and add more later. Although the order to delivery wait was agonizing, I have to say that was nothing compared to the joy of my first day with the car.
I really appreciated the way that Will Walton (Sales Representative) and Mike Sweeney (New Car Sales Manager) treated me during the entire order through delivery process. The entire group of people at Harold Zeigler Ford in Lowell are a credit to the brand!
