2015 GT Shifter Knob Removal

How is the shifter knob removed from the 2015 GT 6 Speed ?
Thinking of changing mine-haven't been working on these newer Mustangs much in recent years so I am asking.......

Same as scratching your nuts....pinch and twist.

Super easy. Just unscrew it counter-clockwise. That's literally all there is to it.

I just changed mine out on Thursday. Grip and twist.

Super easy. Just unscrew it counter-clockwise. That's literally all there is to it.

Everyone seems to say it's super easy, but mine won't budge. Had my neighbor try, wouldn't budge. Brought it up to my friends at the auto body shop; wouldn't budge. Yes, turning counter clockwise. What kind of loctite did Ford use on this thing? Geez....

Easiest way I found is using a microfiber to grip the shift knob. For some reason microfiber grips leather extremely well.
