OK I thought so :)

With the 3.15 rear end, 2nd is pretty long and it definitely matters for 0-60 pulls. If 2nd ended at/near 60 (like the 3.55 auto), I think I would be ticking under 4.0

I may do a 3.55 ford performance swap so more to come on that later but I'm afraid of my highway MPG with a 3.55.

I got exactly 30MPG driving 50 highway miles around 65-70mph with the 3.15s. I was in Florida and it was probably 85 degrees with high humidity.

to be continued :)

Do the swap. I have 3.55 auto and love it. Test drove one with 3.15 and was not impressed. It was just lacking the get-up-and-go. I get around 25 on the highway going 70. As long as you don't drive a ton of miles, its negligible.

Thanks for the input. I am close to pulling the trigger but the hardest part may be convincing the wife :)

Can you tell me what your RPMs are when you're at 70mph?

Thank you!

lol, I know what you're talking about. It's to the point where my wife is just rolling her eyes but when she drives my car she loves it. I will check tomorrow about the rpm in 6th in D @ 70. Should be around 2000 - 2200 if I'm not completely off.

Exactly 2,000 rpm @ 65 mph
Around 2,150 - 2,200 rpm @ 70 mph

6th gear and in D. Tires at the moment are 255/40 R19 all around.
Thanks a lot for that information. It seriously is much appreciated.

Respect

Heya!

Left foot on brake, slowly build revs with the right foot until 2k rpm, hold for a second or two...then release brake!

Sort of a noob question but can that cause problems?

So I finally did this yesterday on 3 pulls, first was with TC on and it killed power I could tell.

Second attempt was without TC and I spun for a second and would of kept going if I didn't let off a little.

Third went back to the first method and still got the power kill from the TC.

This is with 305 rears too. It's pretty annoying to have that problem especially with 3.15's. Any solution other than slicks?

Lol what? I spin the tires all the time with the 3.15's

No doubt but with warm 305's I shouldn't be spinning as much as I did.
