I know we'll have seen most of these before, albeit briefly, when the official design videos hit the 'net, but most of them were so small it was difficult to make out any detail. I thought it'd be cool to try and track down some decent, larger, images to see what could have been.

I'll add to this as and when I find more, but here some for now, but if you've got any, please post 'em up :)

I'll admit, it took me a while to accept losing the "dorito window" in S550.......and this isn't helping. It looks fantastic!

I'm hoping some of these themes will be explored for the '18MY (or whenever it may be) refresh.

Given the S550 has strong bones, things such as that alternative interior and (hopefully?) return of the dorito window, might just be possible :)

Wow that dash is definitely even nicer than what we are getting now. Let's hope they save that for the 2020 refresh.

Proof the bean counters still rule at Ford, the interior we got is embarrassing for a a car at this price point.:tsk:

Seeing these, I am glad we lost the B-pillar - looks much sleeker without it. Also glad we lost the c scoop - though I am surprised to hear myself say that.

However, that first interior would have been far and away my choice over the current one.

I like them but thank God they kept the huge fog lights out of the grille, hated that look on the last gen,

there's a video somewhere showing that interior concept along with a similar painting of the one we got. In the video the speaker tells how they had focus groups choose between that one and the one we got. It sucks because clearly the one above is sooo much better. I'd sure like to know who was in those focus groups...

I don't know why but the Center Stack and Console on this Rendering makes me think of a Camaro more than a Mustang.

While I think the design team did a great job, I actually prefer all those renderings, minus the b pillars and fog lights, over what we got. Lets hope the first refresh looks more like these.

The finished product is actually impressively close to the concept bits in most cases. That's a feat unto itself as history has shown us; concept cars rarely look like their final product.

For instance, the tremendous disappointment that is the Subaru WRX:

Concept:

The hideous thing that went into production:
