So they used the shell of the original parts (skeleton) and overlaid carbon? Unless I missed it (skimmed) what is the weight difference.

No, they used the original panels as molds for the carbon........so all the panels are now carbon.

One of my favourites from SEMA

Read an article and they said it was 500 pounds lighter.

Wow that is a really pretty car! 145k is a lot of money though. For 10k you could get almost every easily removable exterior piece replaced with carbon fiber from the vendors on this site.

I remember Anderson Composites saying carbon fiber didn't really have much weight savings using carbon fiber on the hood and fenders due to the stock one being aluminum. Their doors they said were 50% lighter but wouldn't survive an impact well in the case of an accident. I wonder how much of that weight on this car was saved from doing the rear quarters, the roof, etc.

Needs some spacers. Looks like they added those little wide body-ish trim pieces around the wheel wells but didn't offset the wheels. Wheels (especially front) seem to be a bit sunken in because of it.

Other than that, seems to be a beautiful job creating all of the panels in CF. Really looks great!

Someone above mentioned that the CF doors wouldn't withstand an impact. I'm no expert but I don't think the metal door skin would fair much better. I believe what would save you is what's inside of the door, not necessarily the outer skin itself. I could be wrong though...
