BTW, does anyone know when the last week of MY 17 production is? Or when the MY 17 VIN assignment or build scheduling ends? Thanks.

Have you checked to see if your car is showing on COTUS yet? I ordered my car last week and it showed up on COTUS today with a VIN.

Yes. I put in the Order number, Dealer Code, and my name, and get this:

"A matching vehicle could not be determined. Please contact your dealer to get status updated about your order."

On the screenshot my salesman sent me, I can see the order below mine, which has a VIN. I put that VIN into COTUS and it shows a regular GT350 ordered from the same dealer (with an email contact for a different salesman).

I'm assuming that, since he's getting a report from Ford, my order has been accepted into the system for build, but just hasn't been assigned a VIN, or scheduled for build. But given all the horror stories, I would like some additional informed feedback.

Only thing I can think is that because it is an R they aren't as quick to schedule it as a regular gt350. :shrug: I wonder what priority code they put your order on? I know mine is a 10 so that is supposed to be the highest priority a dealer can do.

My personal experience is as follows. Locked in just means ordered and will be built although there may be unusual circumstances when Ford could decide not to. Won't show up on cotus until it's released by regional rep to be scheduled to build. Once released and assigned a VIN will show up on cotus as in order processing, then in production, then in transit, then delivered which you can follow on that website.

FINALLY GOT A VIN

2017 R in Lightning Blue, R electronics, stripe delete, no black roof.

Ordered on 5/5/16. No build date yet, but, per email I was forwarded from the Sales Zone Manager, Ford's Regional Inventory Specialist says it's a May build. (Apparently they're building 2017's into June.)

I'm seriously stoked! :thumbsup:

I've been told they are building them into July. My order is 6/1/16 and I've been told it is going to get built in June or July.

I'm stoked, but also pretty annoyed. Dealer has had my substantial deposit for almost a year now.

I'm so old, the one year wait was a blink. :rolleyes:

BTW, digging the '68 fastback. I'm originally from Houston - Memorial area. You?

H3157 has arrived

Took delivery of H3157 last Thursday. Ordered 11/1/16 and delivered 4/13/17. Already have 600 miles on her, and every one of them has been a blast!

I have a 2017 Race Red R on order. With the 2018 cars coming out soon when do you think they will finish up 2017 production?

I have a Race Red 17 R coming in hopefully this week or next week (ordered 1 year ago). COTUS said estimated delivery 4/25 but still not here yet. When is your estimated delivery?

My 17 base R was ordered on 4/17/16, completed build on Mar 1 and sat at Ford until 3/29 (4 week delay) when it went out for stripes, spoiler and wheels. Came back next day. Been sitting at Ford awaiting a rail car since then (~4 more weeks go by). No one can tell me when it will get assigned or arrive at my dealer.

Hurry up and wait. :frusty:

Cars with VINs just before and after mine have already been delivered (incl Rs), as reported on this forum. Let's get it going Ford....:doh::ford:

No VIN and no ETA. It is "in the system" but don't have any other info.
