Hmmmm..... Well if it isn't on the EB I guarantee you it is not on the 6. I wonder how the oil temp gauge will react now because of this... If it works then it will not be all that accurate as you have stated. The hope is that it will be able to read whatever the LCD cluster is using. With that said, that is assuming the calculations are not being done in the cluster. If everything is localized in the cluster then the oil temp gauge will not work.Inferred
That's what I thought as well.
On the EB the oil temp listed on the Lcd cluster is based off of coolant temp, head temp, ambient temp among other things.
The only true temperatures on the car that I have found that have sensors are oil pressure, coolant temp, boost/vaccum, intake air temp, charge air temp, cyl head temp and a few other ones.
In my opinion it's ridiculous that they couldn't put a real oil temp sensor.
