I pay $30 a year which includes inspection cost. Considering I paid $24,155 for my Mustang including delivery and American prices for fuel in Germany, this thread is making me feel really sorry for enthusiasts in other countries.

Here in Germany one is still allowed to enjoy cars with lots of power....perhaps something to do with all the petrol heads here :D

The German system are all based on emissions, for example, an EB costs around €37000 to buy and only €214 a year in tax. A GT around €42000 and €508 a year both for manual. Auto is €2000 and €306/€476 - the auto lets out less emissions so cheaper per year in tax.

please stop ragging on the ecoboost! it's bad enough the Americans do, but not here in Europe too... it's a wonderful engine (and at half the already ridiculous price of the V8 :D)

I just got the 1st of what will be the annual tax bill for my EB and it is
€ 306,00
Germany's taxes is not bad considering what people in other EU countries are paying.

Agreed. Less than US MSRP for a GT350; no sales tax, no import tax, no road tax, and American fuel prices for up to 400l/mo. I can't complain...

WOW!

I assume those are Euros?

Who votes for the politicians that pass those laws?
One of the many reasons some of us Brits voted to leave.....we didn't want unelected politicians and beaurocrats and Eurocrats that we didn't vote for, bring this shite to good ol UK:)

No wonder my GT got so much attention when I went to Holland

Funny, that's why the American colonies opted to leave the UK :)

New co2 tax in France for ecoboost (and V8 as well I guess)

Before : 3000 €
Now : 6810 €

"La célèbre sportive affiche toujours un prix de départ canon (38 900 €). Mais avec des rejets de CO2 de 179 g/km il faut désormais ajouter 6 810 € au lieu de 3 000 €, soit 17,5 % du tarif de la Mustang équipée du quatre cylindres Ecoboost 317 ch."

That's what you have to pay now in France to drive a Mustang :

Mustang GT Fastback AT White Platinium (without the 1 800€ for the Recaro) :
Full optioned 50 600 € + CO2 tax 10 000 € + Registration tax 2 000 €

At the end, your GT cost : 62 600 €

Mustang Ecoboost Fastback AT White Platinium (without the 1 800€ for the Recaro):
Full optioned 45 600 € € + CO2 tax 6 810 € + Registration tax around 1 500 €

At the end, your Ecoboost cost : 53 910 €

On top of that, you have to pay a yearly tax of 160 €

Glad I already have my GT :headbang:

I am paying 960 EUR a year in road tax. Fuel is also taxed (almost half of the 1.65 EUR per liter price is tax). And, like Eric said, you also pay a huge sum in emissions tax when you buy the car. I 'only' paid 13500 EUR because it's an EB. GT's are for all means and purposes illegal to drive. Politicians stumble over each other to be even more environmentally conscious than the other.

Thing is, people here hate cars and just see them as a required appliance to get to work. They mostly don't want to drive a car and the government is only encouraging that attitude by making them drive crappy, non-inspiring motorized tin cans with sub 1 liter 75hp moped engines.

Youngsters mostly don't even care if they see a Mustang or another sports car in the street. They just see a polluting, noisy, big, expensive thing. So they will happily vote for the goody-two-shoes-look-at-me-being-green politicians, because their don't feel they are missing out on anything.

This is just total nuts!

As I have said before, it looks like Germany is still better than most when it comes to the car tax! Although Merkel gets driven around in an Audi A8 W12....:paddle:

For €53910 in Flanders you'd have about a full-option EB in special color (WP or TY, but not the recaro) in Flanders, tax payed, sequential rear lights, front Tri-bars, new wheels, new tires and be not to far from 500PK (493HP)

First time I'm feeling good about our taxes
