Yup, that was my guess. Did you knick it with the oil drain for the turbo? It is a weird thing to fail.
Dont think so ? Look how far away it is .

I would figure that when the oil squirter tube broke off it was hit by the crank which then impacted the oil level sensor hard enough to break it. It's a chain reaction!

Damm man that sucks,but the good thing is maybe the engine was not damaged that bad.U said bearings looked good,if so i would look at the top end bearings and if they look good put a new squirter on and put it back together.Was it idling when this happen.

I noticed a wierd noise at about 2-3k on decell so i checked the oil and seen metal ? But my bearings are good so ill have to check the oil pump. Ill do a complete tare down this weekend and report back.

Not sure how much metal u seen but some could have come from the squirter,if so i think your good as your oil was not completely cut off and u was not at wot.

O im sure this has been going on a while , i got a couple cam caps that are scored. So im sure at wot the top end was starved.

Maybe the metal was from drilling the hole for the drain back? Just as a side note- I have never seen an aluminum journaled ohc setup that didn't have some kind scoring or marks in the cam caps when taken apart. Mine had a couple that had lines through them, I just cleaned them up and put it back together..
