Differential noise with steeda diff bushings

Hey guys wondering if anybody has a fix, other than removing the differential bushings, to reduce or get rid of the differential whine after installing the steeda differential bushings?

Which bushing did you use the Red or Black? Judging on your mods I would be awfully surprised that you'd find some gear whine bothersome.

Used the red ones....I was surprised too but once I'm up to 70 or so it gets pretty noticable.

I went to a heavier oil, that helped a little bit.

It's possible hat the lash was set up incorrectly from the factory. Either take it in or have a rear-end specialist re-adjust the lash.

Hmmm never thought of that but great point. Wonder how much that would cost to correct...I'll give my shop a call to diagnose and correct it if need be.

I have the BMR lockout bushings and they make the rear end whine real bad. I’m switching to the Steeda red ones because I heard someone say they aren’t as bad with NVH. Ehhhh oh well.

I have the red diff lockout kit from BMR and I have diff whine (more like a whistle in my case) from about low 50s to low 60s mph.

I have aluminum inserts (Steeda's), the full suite of Steeda parts for the IRS, an aluminum driveshaft, a transmission-mounted MGW shifter, and Steeda engine mounts. I get some whine, I get some more engine noise, but nothing that bothers me and nothing that anyone else in my car (who also owns a Mustang) has ever really spoken up about. I suspect you'll get used to it and tune it out of you let it go.

Now... clunky driveline. I've never gotten used to that. That was present 200 miles after I bought the car. Conveniently not a bunk or dunk or clunk or clanky/clunk/clunk until I was firmly its owner.

I never really noticed it before because I had the MBRP race catback that droned and it drowned out the noise. I just installed the AWE Switchpath, which doesnt drone, and I can hear the gears whine like a mofo at about 70mph
