Doesn't 16-17% loss sound rather high for that transmission setup?

So much for break in periods :D seems to be running well after all
They are around 12%, its a modern wet auto, so loses nowhere near 17%.

Car is around 475HP crank on that dyno, the cold weather would have helped perk up the numbers too. :)

Not taking anything away from the car though as 119mph trap speed says it all, these cars are damn quick with the A10, but they are not 500HP.

Math is slightly out.

425whp, with a 12% loss is 482hp

425 x 100 / 88 = 482

(Basically 425 / 0.88)

Rather than what most people do (incorrectly)
425 x 1.12 = 476

Either way, if right, it’s more then 460

Here is the video. He thinks he has a 500hp car

Also, at 8:20 when you are calculating crank hp based on a 16% power-train loss..."425*1.16"...are you guys for real??? That's like...third grade math.

Yup I failed at mathematics

This forum continues to make my head hurt worse every time '18 power figures come up. You all are operating under a massive assumption that a tuners -chassis- dyno (calibrated to whatever specification or not) will 100% accurately correspond to the -engine- dyno that Ford used to certify the engine.

This is wishful thinking. If you trust a tuner's number over Ford's numbers, this is also wishful thinking.

You're assuming the advertising numbers are also what Fords dyno actually reads

I just watched a YouTube video where a 2018 PP car did 120+MPH in the 1/4. But now I can't find the damned video.

I'll keep looking.

Just because a manufacturer rates a car at a power level doesn't mean it can't make much more than that number. Where they could get in trouble is if it makes less than the advertised power number. It's clear Ford underrated their power numbers. So many people in denial!

Its common knowledge the 18 Mustang make 525hp.
