V6 and GT gears

So my buddy and I were talking about what mods I should do next and he mentioned that gears would be a good one. Then he said that his GT 3.31 gears and my 3.15 gears might be interchangeable and that we should swap our differentials (he has a procharger so he wants longer gears).

Question is does anyone know if the parts are the same for all s550's? We do not want to open up and extract the gears, just a straight rear swap for a quick and cheap job.

For reference, base auto GT comes with 3.15 gears.

Yeah, you can just swap the differential.

Do you both have manuals or both have automatics? If so you can just swap the whole pumpkin (complete rear end carrier with gears and differential). The manual and automatic pumpkins are different.

We're both manuals. Not sure if 2015 and 2016 make a difference.

This is a good topic. Would it be better to St 3.31s on the v6 or stick to the 3.15s. Will it pull harder on rolls from 60 mph +
