Sync 2 upgrade to 3.10?

Has anyone upgraded their Sync 2 to version 3.10 (from 3.08) yet? It came out last December 2016.
It is said to make the screen changes snappier. But, of course, my Ford dealership are reluctant to install it as their method is a slow download from US (and can't be bothered). But you can download the EU (UK) version here:

Just copy this onto an otherwise empty USB stick (2GB size minimum) formatted to FAT32, place it in the front USB port, and it should install automatically. (I think it might be wise to remove F6 map SD card first - as it came out after this in 2017 - and replace afterwards, just in case.) Takes 20-30mins.

So, anyone done it already?

Anyone brave enough to do it now? Manders? Come on....

Why is it a .nz address? And edge won't download it without installing some other software.

The point of my post is to see someone braver than me do it first - or recommend it, having done it already. I'm chicken. But there are brave souls here happy to tear their cars apart in the name of modding!

The .nz address is a side-issue - this is definitely the EU (English language) version. Lots of UK Ford owners of Focus, Mondeos etc have done it. See link below of conversation. But I'm wondering about Mustang owners here.

You would think connecting the car to t'internet would do it, like a phone. But then you'd think a lot of things about Ford.

PS ENGINE MUST BE RUNNING THROUGHOUT!

PPS On the USB stick you should have only: "SyncMyRide" folder and "autoinstall.lst" file taken from the unzipped download

I've got to point when I get the 'update' page on screen, and then the 'OK' button. I've bottled it at that point (and switched it off)!

Just a file rehosting site... IIRC off the back of "Megaupload" . Think NZ have less strict laws on certain things internetty.

I may give this a go later tonight, if I'm not tinkering with other things. :lol:

There's a chap on Simply Mustangs on Facebook who I'm chatting with - you can check it out there: he's upgraded to 3.10 and testifies that it is quicker (but still clunky in design)

This chap says 'Always remove the nav SD card before upgrading as it may be wiped' - good call

Yep on it... just putting it on the SD card . I'm gonna setup my datalog parameters anyway

Actually, I've just done it, using instructions (and software) from

Went smoothly - 30mins all in. It switched engine off automatically when finished! Though there's then a reboot of system and two ok buttons to press to fully complete process.
Is it snappier? It seems so - but it might be my imagination.
Maps read fine, USB music, fine, and iPhone connection fine - though I seem to have lost ability to screen incoming messages and have them read out. But I do recall it didn't work initially in 3.08 either - perhaps there's some setting to fix? It was pretty lousy at screening/reading messages anyway!

So, it's done - another round of Russian roulette survived!
