Sorry to hear of your woes Jimboy2, as a matter of interest, your car was built the same day as mine, but hopefully, you will be back on the road in 2/3 days

Oh crap James, sorry to see this. Did you get to look in the oil filler? Hope it's just oil in water and the leak and you didn't get low on oil before stopping. Hopefully Ford are stocking the part based on the TSB.

I didn't mate no. Was amazed at how quick the AA got here actually. From the 1st phone call it was an hour until the car was on a flat bed on its way. 1st guy turned up in 20 mins. So didn't really get chance to look.
There was that brown water oil crap everywhere tho. And you could see spots of liquid had sprayed up and onto the engine cover so something went mental under there!

I still don't know if the replacement part is modified to prevent this from happening again:shrug:

I'm worried about the guys with black coolant tanks, they won't see this until it's far too late, unless they have this oil everywhere like me.

Just mod the oil cooler to an external one far better idea
Don't wait for the stock one to fail you know it makes sence

Automotive quality systems are such that if there is a batch of coolers that are giving rise to failures they will be able to identify which VINs were fitted with that batch. Whether they will do this or not is more doubtful. Until engines are being replaced or someone is injured in a consequent fire Ford may well ride their luck. They have previous; read the story of the Ford Pinto fuel tank fires.

The Mishimoto coolant tank has a clear tube on the side to gauge the coolant level

Nope they all need modifications to fit pain in ass
But worth the work

Michimoto or MMR both need alterations last
I heard Michimoto was doing a specific RHD kit

Wow. 2nd one. Feel bad for you mate. It would be interesting to know the blend date of both cars. I'm wondering if the warmer weather is causing this.

If it's a known issue then to be honest I'm pretty worried they haven't done a recall or something.

Edit* I'm aware that the had to move the oil cooler pump or whatever it is due to the RHD modifications and now it's right next to cats. I'm wondering if someone can develop a bolt on heat shield
Not the 2nd, there's been a load go.
