If the Ford engineer did not actually physically check out the car then call Ford customer service and complain. Tell them you want it reviewed properly not just an engineers opinion over the phone. Obviously the dealer felt it was enough of an issue to escalate it to a ford engineer.

I'm having this issue with my '17 GT Premium (MT). I suspect it is a synchro issue. Any thoughts on the dealer covering this? I went to the dealer today and they advised a Ford field tech will inspect the vehicle. I bought it only 20 days ago and it now has 760 miles on it. I test drove another vehicle with the same specs and did not hear the vibrations/grinding from 1st to 2nd. Has anyone else had similar experiences with bad synchros?

What are you hearing or experiencing that leads you to a synchro issue? This MT 82 is noisy, vibrating, notchy, rpm dependent shifting sobs. Atleast in my 6400 mile experience.
