Installed my upgraded bolts yesterday!

12.9 - 14mm and drilled and installed the 9/16-18 x 4.5 bolts.

I have the Steeda inserts and the 4.5" bolt length on the 9/16, seems like it is not enough( probably the Steeda's inserts are thicker)

Ordered some 5" to replace the bolts.

Torqued to 130 (should it be higher?)
You can use 5" or 5.5" bolts. 5" will have effectively no exposed thread (with aluminum inserts, anyway). 5.5" will have exposed thread. Either will work.

Thread protrusion is for safety. Protrusion = full engagement, which means full clamping force can be produced.

Like safety nipples? Haha.

5" you'll get like... a thread coming out plus the end of the bolt, obviously. At least I do. 5.5" you get more threads, about enough for 1 regular nut to cover up.

So these work with stock bushings also? Just want to make sure!

Here is the link for the upgraded hardware kit with billet rear bushing inserts.

You can use the code FS6KA to purchase them from this link ;)

*This specific RH017 Kit works with the BMR BK051 diff insert kit, and should work with other available insert or lockout kits.

*RH018 for 100% stock bushings will be available shortly.

Sounds good Josh!

I'd love to also perform some VooDoo to it on the alignment rack.

We need to schedule it!

No doubt, brother! Motor is en route. Should be back on track just in time for glorious summer temps again, lmao. And once everything is back together, I'll connect and drive her out your way for sure. Thanks for all your guys' support!

Thanks, I'll be looking for the RH018 link and ready to get those as soon as you have them. Nice to have a pre-packaged deal without having to order up stuff all over the place.

More diff bolts bite the dust. Local friend of mine had this happen on his Whipple S550. Luckily I was around, and had some goodies in my garage to get him on his way.

This was a non-BMR brand billet diff insert kit. The car does not have any BMR components on it. Yet anyways.

I got him setup with a set of OEM driveshaft bolts (F&R) last night so he can get the car back on the road while getting this all resolved. He's lucky to have friends like you and I ;)

Our RH017 Bolt Upgrade Kit has been installed in over 100 vehicles now and we have not seen a failure yet.

I would not say it is impossible to bend or break the RH017 kit, but I will say that people have replaced their broken parts for this kit and have experienced them (RH017) hold up to more abuse. ;)

http://www.bmrsuspension.com/siteart/install/RH017.pdf

Also, for those not using our kit - but are using another brand or your own DIY....please make sure to use Blue Loc Tite AND use the method below if using an allen key tool.

NOTE:

An Allen wrench (vs. Allen socket) may be necessary to clear the CV shaft. If using an Allen wrench, turn wrench 90 degrees (or ÂĽ turn) after the lock washer is flattened
