so when I have the clutch in all the way, and I put the car in gear it feels as if it lunges forward a little bit like as if the gear is grabbing instead of staying in neutral

is it related to the increased throttle from the cobra jet/monoblade? or symptoms of air in the line/clutch being worn?

I don't notice any resistance or difficulty shifting or driving otherwise

All of my 5 manual trans Mustangs have done this to some extent. Never knew if it was actually normal or not.

When you clutch in and put in 1st gear, the momentum of the transmission input shaft gets sent to the output shaft causing the car to move a bit.

Normal. I also freaked when I noticed this.

You'd think Ford would train its sales guys to explain that is normal so that 100% of all new Mustang owners don't show up at the service center the next day freaking out.

Like me...

I see that its common but is it really "normal" should our vehicles be doing this? I have driven several other manual transmissions and never felt this. to me it almost feels like clutch isn't fully engaging, anyone found a fix for this?

Makes me think of a slave issue, or clutch going

It's actually a sign of the slave cyl air gap not being perfect in its adjustment.

technically the car shouldn't be rolling forward when getting into gear as the clutch should be out far enough to not be engaging the flywheel. something like this happened to 1 of my other cars because the slave cylinder wasn't working well.(it was also getting hard to get it into first gear, once rolling other gear changes were fine)

my GT does not lurch forward or roll forward when going into first...at least ive never felt it do so.

I have never felt this. Clutch drag? Throw the rear on stands, block the front tires and with the clutch in put it in first. Have a friend look to see if your rear wheels are turning.

how would I go about checking for air in the line/ pumping it out?

is it possible my clutch&pressure plate are unhappy with me from some 7700+ shifting? lol
