I am in the process of installing base gt350 shocks and struts on my 2016 gt with Sportline springs. they bolt up perfectly fine. The front struts on the base 350 is mono tube and has a longer shaft. Also, the base 350 struts do not have the big dent on the strut body like the gt models. So running 350 struts with factory gt wheels you might rub on the strut housing. I am running 12mm spacers and Mrr 350 wheels without any rubbing issue and plenty of space.

Will see how the shocks and struts perform with the sportlines once completely installed.
The front 350 struts are identical to ford racing struts. Compression and rebound are also 99% same as the FRPP struts but the FRPP struts are twin tube.

Also, bump stops that came with the gt350 struts are same as the FRPP bump stops. Same part number.

Trying things out before I spend 3k+ on coilovers.

The Steeda struts and shocks are nice but they will not work well with sportlines. The car felt very lazy under load compression and it was uncontrollable because of the softer compression. Sportlines are more aggressive and also progressive rate. If you have linear springs Steeda shocks and struts would work well. Sportlines rely on more compression from shocks and struts that Steeda does not offer unless you are running linear springs.

Btw, my dealer is pretty cool. He said if I don't like it I can return it but I have to pay 15% restocking fee.

I have seriously been thinking about doing this. How much of a spacer would you need to clear with factory wheels?

The Mrr 350 wheels are 40 offset for the front. I am running 275-35-19. I installed my front wheel WITHOUT the spacers and I had maybe 2mm or less clearance from the strut.

The factory front pp wheels are 45 offset with 255 tires and probably would rub against the strut. I do no t have any factory wheels so I am not 100% sure. From the looks of it, might not clear. Most people are running spacers anyways with factory pp wheels.

Came out to $750 with discount, from local dealer.

You can buy it online for around $680 shipped. If you are in ca add another $45 for tax. Cheapest I found so far.

I Paid little more because I can always return it and just eat the 15% restocking fee.

Btw,the price is for 2 struts and 2 shocks.

The pp struts are pretty good with the sportlines. Compression is nice and firm. The pp rear shocks with sportlines really need help in the rebound department.

Yeah will see what happens. If I am not happy with them I will return it.

Really want to try the new eibach coilovers and they are also monotube. You can buy the eibachs from Amazon. Plus Amazon has a easy return policy so if I dont like it I can return it. :ninja:

Do we know what the spring rate is on a GT350 at all? I'm sure they're higher than a GT PP. With the GT PP having just barely enough damping I'd imagine these would be a nice upgrade for stock springs and curious to how they match up with Sportlines.

The nice part is, getting both the shocks/struts and the base GT350 springs would also provide a nice subtle drop (it's 0.5" lower than the GT, IIRC). This is exactly what I want. Sure, a little more expensive than a good aftermarket setup from say, BMR + FRPP track handling shocks, but sometimes you gotta spend more to get exactly what you want.

Frpp rear shocks offered little better rebound but compression is weaker compare to pp shocks.

Did you do shock testing or is this anecdotal from your experience?

FYI - 2015 PP rear shocks have more compression and less rebound compared with 2016 PP rear shocks, though they increased the rebound for '16 more than they decreased compression. This is via a Ford Vehicle Dynamics engineer and friend of mine. He doesn't have a lot of knowledge of the FRPP stuff and only a little involved on the Shelby, but knows all the details of the V6/EB/GT hardware.
