There aren't many cars on the market these days that won't hit 100k with general maintenance. Quality has improved pretty much across the board. It will definitely take time before it can be said that these cars are bulletproof over 100k miles.
I DD'ed mine this whole winter. Had a set of Michelin X-Ice 3s on it which were great. When the snow got very heavy, I either took the wife's Jeep or worked from home.
It seems like the #14236 is a closer match for the mufflers on the Street series, since that is offset on both ends and has the 2.5" diameter. I'm going to go to some local shops and see what the price would be for two of those mufflers, the tips you mention, and all the fab work that goes with it.
Everyone should ignore JD Power. Until they actually separate mechanical reliability from infotainment bugs, their ratings will not be accurate. Same can be said for Consumer Reports.
It will most likely be handled the same way as every other MFT update. You can download it to a USB stick for free off their website, then update the software yourself. Or take it to the dealer and they'll do it. I've never been charged for updates.
I disagree with the buy a beater over winter tires idea. Sure, you don't care about the exterior getting beat up and everything, but the reliability on that isn't going to be anywhere near that of the Mustang. Last thing I want is to have the car not start or have something break and leave me...
Mine is delayed as well. I was hoping to have it before I went on vacation but that definitely won't be happening now. The last update I got on Wednesday said that the car was still at the factory.
My current ETA is the 19th but I'm hoping that it somehow shows up at the dealer before the 16th! Otherwise it's going to be sitting at the dealer while I'm on vacation through the 28th. Definitely don't want to be thinking about the car during that time.
Personally I was able to get the $750 private cash and a $500 Retail Customer Cash incentive (Program #12768). Bear in mind this is for a 2016, a 2015 will probably have more incentives available.
I'd like to live in a place where I could get a non-beat to hell Jeep for $1,200. I would still rather put the winters on the Mustang and drive that however
