I had P-Zero summer tires on a car that was stored in the winter in a garage that got below 45 deg, but not below freezing. Also I drove on these tires occasionally in temperatures below 32 degrees, before salt season.
I had the tires on the car for about 5 years and about 40,000 miles. There...
I'm 66 and I think black wheels look OK with some colors: orange, yellow, white, black, and light silver.
They look bad on dark grey (like magnetic), and any shade of red or blue. These colors should have painted or polished aluminum wheels.
But there's no accounting for taste, so do as you will.
This is a serious problem that will only get worse and begin to eat the tranny.
Honest to God, the last time I recall a jump-out-of-1st problem I was a child and my dad had a brand new 1957 "steady breaker" AKA Studebaker. Are we going back to that level of "quality" in Detroit?
Aren't the pistons aluminum as well? They expand just like the block.
However, the bores may go out of round when they expand, due to stresses caused by variations in wall thickness, or even just insufficient wall thickness, like between adjacent bores.
Also, the plasma deposited lining has a...
I'm surprised they didn't suspect an electrical problem FIRST, rather than the thermostat. Doesn't anyone in dealers service departments have any experience at all?
Sheeesh!
For some reason, car manufacturers caution against oil additives.
The moly will, as someone said, be burnished down to a layer in the millionths of an inch, but first the goopy additive has to circulate through the engine.
I would be worried about unintended consequences. This product may coat cylinder walls with moly platelets and reduce piston noise, but what will it do to the flow of oil into tight spaces like crank journals?
In fact one reason I'm thinking of a Mustang to replace my 2010 Camaro is that the Mustang offers a spare. Another reason is that you can still get a 5.0 with all-season tires.
I don't like summer tires for daily driving because they really suck on cold rainy days, long before it's time to worry about ice and snow.
I like these:https://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/tire/bf-goodrich/g-force-comp-2-a-s and have them on a V8 Camaro with way more torque than your Ecoboost...
I am thoroughly bored with Car and Driver's pro-manual crusade. (I'm a long time subscriber.)
There really is no more reason for the crude device known as the manual clutch. Super car makers have long since said goodbye to manuals, and C&D should give it up, too.
I drove manuals exclusively...
I have been ordering cars from GM for the last 30 years. In that time I have bought only one new car off the lot, only because it was a deeply discounted model closeout. Never a problem. I even ordered a GM car that was made in South Korea, and got it in 12 weeks!
I love getting exactly the car...
Hi, I'm local driver from Cape Ann, Massachusetts. I currently own a 2010 Camaro SS and am considering a 2019 Mustang GT as a replacement.
Things I might in a Mustang over a Gen6 Camaro include overhead cam engine, no cylinder deactivation, real world tire choices instead of being forced into...
