What are peoples thoughts on the the current 2017 Mustangs being advertised as brand new, as some of these cars are now more than 12 months old. And can these cars potentially suffer problems from sitting around in car yards for such a long time?
Don't hold your breath, they have put the cart before the horse, they released the price of a set of mud flaps before they released the price of the actual car, hilarious!
Not doubting you have seen a Ford document, from what I can gather your deposit is saving you a place in line and when details are finalised you say Yay or Nay.
After following this post over the last few days, I decided to contact my dealership regarding my order for 2018 and he told me they have no details at all. I am like many people here, if we are talking 70-80k then I am definitely out, I also opted out of my order for the 2017.
From what I can gather it's not dealerships being overstocked but Ford Australia allowing dealerships to discount heavily so as to clear for the upcoming model.
To the unassuming buyer this may look like a good deal, but if you walk in with 55 large I think you may have a very good chance of driving away with a brand new 2017 auto GT fastback, even less for a manual.
I think the issues will be the same, its the used car game, the only way they might retain value or go up in value is if in the near future Ford US decides to pull the pin on exporting right hand drive Mustangs to Australia. As for resale value according to Carsales a trade-in price for a 2015 GT...
That's an awesome deal, as of Friday night their website showed 79 Mustangs, Saturday night showed 64 cars, so looks like they may have sold more than 3 or 4.
Interesting to know why there was a such a long wait previously and now a dealership has 70 or so cars being discounted, feel sorry for those people who have just received their cars and paid retail or close to.
Not sure if this is an indication of over supply but a Melbourne dealership has at last count 79 Mustangs for sale, they have a brand new manual GT for under 57K d/away.
If they do replace it with a brand new engine does that also mean it will have a mismatched engine number, if so, another reason to ask for a replacement car.
