I appreciate the link! And I'm with you on the sound, love that deep burble. I'm currently driving a C-7 and I love the LT-1's sound so if/when I switch to the Mustang I'll be after the same sound you're going for. I grew up in the 1960s so big V-8s are in my DNA. I'll follow your build thread...
Love the sound of the H-pipe. I tried a search and couldn't find a source for the MRT, could you share a link/part number for it? I know several other companies have them, like Steeda. Any other mods to the exhaust? Thanks and happy motoring...
It might be appropriate at this point to share a link to my Dad's aircraft photo collection, starting in the early 1940s. With all of the aviation buffs here, some will appreciate the authentic photos. Please respect the copyright but enjoy the selection. I had sent this via a PM earlier but I...
^ I'm partial to a radial piston engine myself, quite a distinctive sound. I had the good fortune to have served in an airwing that had 2 squadrons of radial piston-engined aircraft. While not glamorous by any stretch, the S2Tracker had dual Wright R-1820s and when a flight of those fired up it...
Johnny, I'm pretty sure the Mustangs had their original Allisons replaced by the Merlin, increasing performance/speed at altitude. At least that's how I remember the story from Dad...
I enjoyed the review, thanks OP. For me, every car I've owned has been and will be a compromise. No car, that I can afford anyway, has it all in every category. I love my C-7's LT1 engine (and no I don't own any jean shorts). I loved my Jag's ZF transmission. I like the looks (mostly!) cabin...
I feel your pain, Zooks. I had an overhyped German sporty coupe that ate a valve at <100 miles. Was the first time I ever saw every warning and caution light illuminated. I hope Ford makes it right and quickly...
Here's info from Steeda's site, and thank you to Steeda for the descriptions:
"H-PIPES
Available in 304 stainless, 409 stainless, and aluminized steel an H-pipe will produce a traditional deep American muscle car tone and produce best torque in lower RPM ranges.
X-PIPES

For the X plan definitely check out the Mustang Club of America, $50 to join, with links on their website to the X-plan process. It takes about 3 weeks to get your club card, but when you're ready to make a deal, you print out a certificate to take to the dealer as proof. Plus you get the club's...
I second the Michelin AS3+ all-season, I run them on my C7 here in Oregon where it's typically <40Âş and a cold rain in the Willamette Valley and they do great. A lot of Corvette guys run them year round as a daily driver tire.
