Well...I traded my 18GT in on an F150 for the always fun family reasons.
I never got around to wiring up my active setup, after having pulled together a whole bunch of wiring diagrams so I could add the harnesses needed.
If anyone in the Washington DC DMV area is looking for an setup, let me...
Heck yeah, I'd love to take a listen. See if it's the same sound. I've frequently wondered if we are all hearing the same thing. You can always upload to youtube too :).
Yeah, I know how you feel. Engine warranty is 60k, so I have a while. I do need to bring it back in and get them to document that it's doing it at least, but this issue seems to be extremely common. I will laugh if we all eventually figure out that is nothing internal at all, but rather the...
Im at 12,500 miles, and mines been rattling like a maraca under light throttle (any gear) since ~1000 miles. I have a few oil samples I've been meaning to send in, but haven't gotten around too it. Car runs fine. I've never seen anything bad in the oil or the filter, and the noise goes away...
If your willing to swing up around the beltway some, BAP (Billys Automotive Performance) run out of Burnt Mills Autobody in Silver Spring is a good bet. Billy's a good dude, and he knows what he's doing. I live clear down in Charles County and if I run across something I can't tackle myself in...
Just that another member here had identified that their car, without factory AE, had the relay in the box, but it appeared to be plugged in upside down. It would be good to inspect a car with factory AE and ensure that the relay is installed in the correct orientation before we all go flipping...
Are you getting power? It was posted a while back that the power relay is installed such that now power flows if it's not factory installed. So you'll need to flip that relay around if you haven't already.
Yeah same here, mine is definitely louder inside. I can hear it outside, but not anywhere near as easily.
That's a good idea, I'll do that.
Yes, engine cold. Car had a few thousand miles too, and the stock exhaust, so the rattle should have been easy to hear. Now...I wasn't driving, so...
I think those have their own problems. I actually was ready to pull the trigger on a Camaro until I tried to get the child seats in the back. That made that choice pretty easy...they fit in the mustang, but not the chevy.
I'm in the middle of putting my fox back together, but once that's...
Thread update;
The leak is back, and worse than ever now. Where before it looked like two bolt holes were the culprit, it now appears whole sections of the gasket might be leaking. The whole pan is soaked, rather than just a few small runs. So it'll have to go back in. Since I caught this...
Beats me man. I had my car a week and started seeing spots all over the driveway. At first, I thought it was my old Dodge Ram. Nope. Then I figured it *had* to be my wifes 2011 explorer which was just about to cross 200k at the time...nope. It was the 2018 Mustang. Damn composite pan...
Great.
Mine has to go in before long anyway because my oil pan is leaking again, so I'll have them look at it then. I'm just waiting until my oil change is due...might as well take advantage of the "free" oil change. Hopefully they fix the pan properly this time...kinda sucks having a brand...
Yeah, and you definitely aren't the first one either. Ford did just put out a publication stating that the tick folks have been going in for is "normal". I haven't seen anything on this rattle yet, but I know a fair number of us have the issue. I have two other friends with 18's and both of...
That's not a great sign, but I also wouldn't take that to heart too much either. I'm not surprised it would be louder down there, even if it was coming from the pump...that sound could easily bounce off the hood and echo down under the car. Or being carried through the exhaust. The real tell...
