I heard that no spring is bad for the clutch and blah blah. Maybe it is? I removed it about 30,000 miles ago and so far it's good.
What's your experience been?
Got the white pad installed. Quieter, less NVH. Feels great! And has loosened up so reverse isn't as stiff. I have the very occasional failure to go into reverse, but I think that has to do more with user error.
I believe that they put the sound deadening in, everything else seems good. The nvh seemed to lessen on the second drive and it already seems to loosen up. First is further than it was before, like further left, but I think it's just a much more well defined gate as before it was loosey...
Got it installed by a shop. Really nice feeling shifter. I didn't realize how much slop the stock one had until I got this. But it's TIGHT. Like when I would casually put it in first before, I have to very deliberately put it into first and into second. I had some rocky first to second gear...
Does the trans bushing help even with the MGW Race Spec? I thought the MGW was all that was needed on the trans end of thing, except for fluid, and clutch stuff.
'16 GT with the Ford Racing Power Pack 2 and Performance Pack.
Getting the MGW X-spec flat stick. Excited! I don't really slam gears too much, but I dislike the crunchy feeling with the stock shifter.
I'm getting a shop to install the shifter, but while I'm there, anything else that's...
Are there any modern longer shifters for the 15-17 MT82 similar to the old Hurst competition? Doesn't have to be curved towards the driver but I do like a long handle shifter.
I see Barton's Hybrid 3 may be a candidate though I am not sure how much taller it is than stock.
I'm not sure if...
Ford dealership, same one I got the car from.
Yeah that side looks oily too, though what's on the floor may just be from the wet snow/rain dripping down. The lower arm though definitely looks like it's got something going on.
Thank you! I went and checked it out. Can't reach it unfortunately, too tight of a fit, especially with the Power Pack air filter box being so big. live in a condo so nowhere to remove it sadly.
Car only has about 30k miles.
When I took it for service, all good. I have the performance pack 1 installed. I hadn't driven it in 3 weeks due to the snowfall. So I serviced it, drove home and then parked it until now. As soon as I serviced it and drove home from work that night, I noticed...
Never had it figured out. The thud doesn't bother me anymore. But the sudden clunk when pushing the clutch in real fast is intermittent. Sometimes it comes on sometimes it doesn't. So long as it won't hurt the car, I can live with it I suppose lol
Sometimes though I will rev up to 4000 RPM in fast moving traffic, push the clutch in and hear that clunk and feel that thud from the rear. And it's not racing around, it's just keeping up with commuter traffic. With the 3.73's it revs up super quick. So I'm not exactly slamming it into gear...
Yes. It is less severe or even not existant if I shift slower or lower rpm or clutch in slower.
But like, painfully slow to get it to go away.
Often times it makes it hard to get a smooth shift in the lower gears and is jerky.
