  1. Preferred combo for autox street class?

A friend of mine has an FS mustang with Koni Shocks and a Sam Strano Rear Bar and routinely Kicks my ass on the small courses. Start there. I don't understand how it works. But it does. She has much more talent than I do. Find the people that kick your ass and make friends with them.
  2. Talk me into tow hooks

So I was at Putnam last year and blew a clutch. The tow truck arrived and we hooked the strap to the shock tower brace. Lowered the hood and he pulled me all the way to the truck and trailer. Fished a broken strap between the bumper and front fascia and wenched it on to the trailer. I was...
  3. Starting pressures for autocrossing OE Pirellis?

I would start at 32F 30R and adjust from there. Use tire chalk, check tire temps, and feel of the car to adjust up or down. Recheck pressure right before you start your next run. On RE71s I run 32-29F 30-27R depending on conditions. IMHO 2 driver cars should probably be spraying. A single...
  4. Another AdvanceTrac service light on

I went to Bob Swope Ford in Elizabethtown.
  5. Decible levels..??

After you get the long tubes installed you can go do an autoX and test the system. The http://kyscca.com/ runs sound at every event in Louisville and at NCM. The http://www.trscca.org/ might as well and are local to you.

  7. FInding the next tenth - AutoX

You are correct Tires are the most important upgrade you can do to your car. I'm running 305 RE71Rs on all four corners and it has made a tremendous difference vs the staggered setup. Now I want to make the most efficient use of them, put some bearings in to get rid of the wet noodle and...

  9. FInding the next tenth - AutoX

I don't have to drive the car every day to work so a little NVH is not a big deal. I think getting rid of the squishy stuff is a good idea. Thank you AL
  10. Next upgrade for AutoX

I had not considered replacing the seats as a performance mod just weight reduction. I'm 50 years old, grew up on a farm and have been driving for 40+ years. So much of driving is how it feels. A good seat, harness bar, and belts might just make a measurable difference. Thank you AL
  11. Next upgrade for AutoX

You are correct. If I overdrive my entry the corner is gone. When I do get it close to right there is still a bit of push. But with my sway bar settings, I don't know if I can eliminate it. I could probably back off some from a full stiff sway bar setting, but the guys I've been talking to...
  12. FInding the next tenth - AutoX

You are absolutely right. For the last 3 events last year I invited a better drive to Co-drive with me and picked up a lot of good experience doing that. I just signed up for the Evo school at the CAM Challange. Whatever cash I have left is going to be spent on replacing bearings. Thank you AL
  13. Next upgrade for AutoX

Thanks for your response. I agree with seat time. I did 19 events last year and hope to do that many again this year. I usually analyze the video Sunday night when I get home and use that as a learning tool as well. If I get my entry speed correct the car has a slight push on entry and...
  14. Next upgrade for AutoX

I'm looking for ideas to get just a bit quicker. I have been running local events in CAM-C and have a whole 3 years experience. I've looked through some of your builds for inspiration and have come up with a few ideas. I can' do it all at once so I have to prioritize. A. Power: GT350 manifold...

Thanks. I literally cut and pasted your questions. I thought they were legitimate questions and should be easy to answer.
  17. MMR's NEW Road Runner ICX INTERCOOLED Manifold

Does it fit under the strut tower brace? Do you have any dyno comparisons between this and another IM?
  18. Auto X Tire Size with 3.73 PP Car

  19. Auto X Tire Size with 3.73 PP Car

Run what you have for a few events. You might catch the bug and want something sticker, you may not. Autocrossing on all seasons is fun. Not very fast but fun. Give the Pirelli's a try. They may give you the combination of grip/longevity that you're looking for. After a few events, your...
  20. Auto X Tire Size with 3.73 PP Car

When the tires are on the car at race pressure, they will not be as tall as the manf specs. I'm loosing about 3 mph at the top of second verses what the math tells me. My solution is to run the widest stickest tire I can and increase the corner speed. Your best time on course will be your...
