I ordered one of these JL Hx300/1 amps aswell. I'm a little confused as I've only ever installed regular full size amps. Will I need to run a full size power wire from the battery, or could I just tap power from say the existing amp. The wires coming from the JL amp don't look to be that big.

You don't get hum by doing this? Cause your technically running a amp off a amp?

Those resistors are plug and play? One of the reasons I haven't bought switchbacks. Kinda anal about cutting/splicing factory wires. Any way you could show how you modified the base?

There is a bolt on the back of the sub box that bolts to the speaker magnet. Take that loose with the front screws, speaker should come out.

Tach light only turns red @ redline when the lights are on. I couldn't figure this out when I first got my car and I hit the limiter a couple times during the day.

My car does this aswell but usually only when my wife drives it and switches it to her preset. She says it happens to her quite frequently when she drives it, but I've only been able reproduce it like twice.
