  1. 2015-17 Mustang GT Ford Performance Power Packs

When I was in Houston running 93 octane, the knock wasn't noticeable. Then I came to the northwest (octane = 92) and was surprised to discover light knocking at low RPMs an dhigh throttle. When you tell the doctor "it hurts when I do this", usually the doctor just says "well don't do that...
  2. 2015-17 Mustang GT Ford Performance Power Packs

Everything I’ve seen so far says you’re right, they don’t sell it separately. The whole tube is ~$200 OEM, but at least it includes an extra filter. I might be off my rocker here, but are there some aftermarket GT350 cold-air intakes that would fit?
  3. 2015-17 Mustang GT Ford Performance Power Packs

Judging from lack of response can I assume no one knows the above? If so I’ll order the above part and let you guys know how it fits. Anyone have any OEM parts sellers to recommend with fast shipping to Houston?
  4. 2015-17 Mustang GT Ford Performance Power Packs

In December I installed the Power Pack 2. The 90-deg nipple on the plastic inlet tube broke on installation, d’oh. I botched it together with epoxy, plus a couple layers of packing tape for safe measure (definitely don’t want dust getting in past the filter), but for cosmetic / long term...
  5. 2015-17 Mustang GT Ford Performance Power Packs

Heck of a thread. I know this has been asked a couple times, but haven't seen a (recent) good answer... Any qualified installers in North Houston (around The Woodlands preferably)? I've contacted a few ASE certified shops and they said they're not interested in installing performance parts...
  6. Adaptive Cruise Pack

In answer to these and earlier questions (note: I can only speak from my experience with my GT PP - you should read your owner's manual for definitive answers): 1. Does it actually brake for you? Yes, Active Cruise Control will brake for you if it's on, but the collision warning does not add...
  7. What if I just want to be a LITTLE louder than stock?

Stock 2015 GT PP, it might be just a *little* too quiet. I don't want to add any extra droning at low RPMs, or wake someone up in the neighboring zip code if I floor it. From what I understand, my options are: - Borla Touring (seems pretty loud in the videos though?) - Resonator remove...
  8. P-Zeros turning brown

Can confirm it happens to mine too. It's known as "browning" and happens to a lot of tires. I use some Meguiars Tire Gel and they look great for a few more weeks.
  9. Performance driving school?

I was considering performance driving school of some kind, then I found my local SCCA Autocross group, and I did their one-day training course for a few hundred bucks. It was a good course with knowledgeable instructors, but I think the best bang-for-buck is to just go to a few autocross events...
  10. BLACK S550 MUSTANG Thread

  11. some fine scratches inevitable?

This car (kinda like me) would probably look a lot better if it didn't have to work so damn hard every day. Driving causes scratches. In my experience, guys who say "my car doesn't have a SINGLE scratch thanks to my use of Product X" usually need new glasses. The 80/20 rule definitely applies...
  12. Leather seat treatment

First time I conditioned my seats using the Meguiar's leather cleaner/conditioner, they were slippery afterwards because I only used one towel. The next time I followed the instructions to the letter, and used a clean towel for the final wipe - no more oily feeling. For what it's worth, I don't...
  13. Over the counter Wax for black 2015 GT??

I also have a black GT, and I will say Meguiar's black paste wax made the black noticeably more reflective than Meguiar's regular wax. In between waxing, every time I wash it I use Turtle Wax & Dry - it absorbs the water, which makes drying easier, and it coats the paint in something very...
  14. Driver seat: Squeaky-go, squeaky-stop

Update on the above: I brought the car in on April 29th so they could fix both the aforementioned seat squawking and a new underbody (exhaust?) rattle, which sounds a lot like what was described in this thread. The seat motor was also cutting out intermittently (I have comfort entry on)...
  15. Heads-up display (HUD) - cheaper and better than dash nav and speedometer

I think as of their last update they said probably Q3 2015. When I get it I'll be sure to post up a Mustang-specific review for you guys! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Heads-up display (HUD) - cheaper and better than dash nav and speedometer

There are no good reasons to read text messages while driving, on MFT or on your phone. If someone needs to communicate with you urgently (e.g. an emergency) they can call you. Based on photos taken from the driver's perspective, it looks like the device is visually about as high as the...
  17. Driver seat: Squeaky-go, squeaky-stop

Sounds like a silly complaint but the driver seat in my premium sportscar sounds like my great great auntie's rocking chair. Whenever I accelerate (i.e. it's not intermittent, it's always there), the seat goes "sqqqqqqawwwwk" - same thing when I brake. Bouncing my butt on the seat or pressing...
  18. Dash rattle

The middle of my dash sometimes rattles and I hear a *ccreakcakck* going over harsh bumps. It's intermittent for now, but it's good to know dealers are responding to complaints. Worse is a rattle that seems to be coming from the driver side A pillar...it's intermittent and if I squeeze on the...
  19. Novice autocross w/ GT PP

I came third in Novice class, second among FSers. Another '15 GT PP got first!
