Yep I did the same thing and got the same price. Mine has just gone 1 year old. Generally I keep cars for 3 years, by then the current shape will be widely discounted at dealers, or something better will have come along.
This is exactly what I have just discovered on mine -heater works on the passenger side (and centre vents) but not the drivers side!
I had thought the heater was just 100% not working, and I mentioned it too my wife, who suprisingly told me the air was warm on her side.
To answer your point around what happens if the tune isnt better than your standard ford tune. The Lund process via the NGuage saves your stock tune file so that you can replace the Lund tune with the stock tune any time you like.
The whole installing a tune process takes about 3 minutes.
I also have a convertible GT with a Lund tune. If you search my user name on here I did a write up of my experience with the Lund tune -and yes guys like Burkey have helped us all.
Any problems (as opposed to preferences) -none
Worth getting -yes
Is it perfect -no, but the Lund guys will...
Actually if you go back to page 6 the Ford dealer guy said $69.5k was RRP including a $2k dealer delivery charge. So its spot on retail -which is better than anyone else seems to be getting offered.
That's the same with my Lund tune, any idea why Lund up the idle rpms? (yes I might ask Lund as well). For me it sets a slightly annoying resonance from my exhaust which didnt exist pre tune.
1 possibly, depends what fails and if the dealer notices the tune. You can de instal the tune but the fact that a tune has been loaded is still discoverable
2 see my first detailed review. I remain of the view it makes little difference, using the paddles, to gear change initiation but quicker...
As a matter of interest using the UK official pricing a loaded GT Auto with magnaride in Magnetic (with the same options as the current Oz spec) would be 44,690 pounds ex VAT. That is about $79,000 in our money -add on GST and we are sitting at north of $85k.
