Depends what you want to do with your car. If you like to take it to the road coarse then you will be disappointed with the GT500. If you like to go like a bat out of hell in a straight line or light to light then the 13/14 GT500 is your ride.
So with more thought, my plan is to go with the Continental ExtremeContact Sport in 305/30ZR19 at all four corners. Price seems right and I don't mix sidewall ratios. I will report back when they arrive.
Hi Guys,
now that the snow has finally melted in my area of Canada I am looking to pull the trigger on some street tires. I would like to thank EF300 for his recommendation of the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 305 30 r19.
Currently I am deciding between the Hankooks or the Firestones in the below...
All my cars are manual. Including my truck that is my winter daily. I sit in traffic like everyone else and have never thought "damn i wish i had an auto right now".
I mean if I was trying to shave in traffic, while holding a coffee, and making a call on my cell phone, then ya an auto would be...
Maybe I have been lucky. Several track days and on my second set of pads and my stock rotors are still good. Regardless of this discussion I love the look of the drilled ones.
I found this tire size comparison tool which I am also finding helpful: http://tire-size-conversion.com/tire-size-comparison/
For street driving this seems like a good idea because i could rotate the tires front to rear (still need to mount dismount) to get a little more life out of them...
I get about 23,000km out of mine with a couple of track days. I now have a set of NT01 track tires for track duty so these will be purely for street use.
Hi all I am looking to replace my soon to be done Pilot super sport tire with the Sport 4S tires. My question is if the slight difference in tire size will affect my speedo or ABS?
There seems to be no direct replacement size for the GT350 (non R) in the PS4S tire.
fronts: 295/35ZR19 (same...
Driving around town in traffic my engine oil temp is between 90c-98C (194F-208F) Outside air about 25C (77F)
I have never seen more than 130C (266F) at the track. Keep in mind I am in Canada so in the summer it does not get very hot here.
I got about 26,000km out of my stock tires and they had the same wear. I live in a very flat province and hwy driving will do that with the -.8 camber and toe in. If you are not tracking I have found getting 0 toe in the front helps with the tire wear and reduces tramlining
Manual in traffic is a personal preference. Both my mustang and my winter truck are manual and I don't ever get tired driving them in traffic. In my mind a car like the mustang will always be more fun with a manual.
I did an oil change after the first 600km. from then on i followed the light. I average between 10,000-15,000km per oil change depending on track use and amount of hwy driving.
I have a base because it's all i could afford. I added transmission coolers and have tracked it several times. It's a blast. I daily the car during the summer. Nothing wrong with a base. Same engine and brakes as all the other models
