My mustang came with the pump kit and sans the spare/jack kit. I would like to purchase just the jack as I have changed my wheels and can use one as a full size spare. I can not seem to find just the jack anywhere without buying the whole kit.

Has anyone come across just the jack for sale?

I was looking at my factory jack last weekend. Hard to image anything made any cheaper quality wise.

Well I picked up chefs suggested jack today. It fits the car fine with no damage to the pinch welds. I may have damaged the jack though as it bent a little were the handle attaches to the jack. It was able to get the tire off of the ground about an inch before cranking it any higher became difficult.

HF carries another scissor style not exactly designed for cars. I think it is more for stabilizing trailers. I believe that I can adapt it to work using one of the puck like devices that you use with a floor jack to save the pinch welds. It has a better handle. lifts 8" higher and is rated for 3 tons. I will update when I get that far.

Thanks all for the input.
