I've mostly been using my ecoboost for daily driving but here lately i've had a little fun with it after tuning, intercooler, exhaust.

now the car is getting sideways all the dang time from a dig, its honestly made the car undriveable under WOT unless im over 15 mph or so.

I believe the current setup is what i have from the factory.
19 x 8.5-in. 255/40R W A/S

Im exploring leaving the front tires as is, and replacing the rears with 275's what are some good options that will fit these stock rims?

You could get away with 275's on 8.5 wheels. Focus more on the make of the tire more than the size. You'll do better with a sticker 255 than a harder 275. What tires are you considering? Michelin PSS are a good option if you have the $$$. Hankook Ventus are also a fun cheap option. Good luck sir!

Anything is better than those all seasons, I have the same stock wheels and tires and they're all around awful. Bad in the dry, bad in the wet, bad everywhere. Soft sidewalls so they're bad in corners too.

Only thing they're good at is being skinny and getting gas mileage, like a prius. I just switched to 19x10/11 wheels with MPSS, even when its still a little too cool out for summer tires the traction difference is night and day.

I ended up going for the indy 500 firehawk from firestone 275/40/19 in the rears absolutely awesome traction and for the price they are definitely worth it. the pirellis are still up in the front for the time being but this fixed the traction problem.

Tires are not the issue, it's the rear suspension.
You need to lock down that rear subframe.
Either a BMR cb005, or a Steeda subframe brace.
Also a set of vertical links.
Your wheel hop and ass out behavior will be cured.

I have the above plus 275 square on 19x10.
1000% improvement

I am looking to go with better tires on the rear as well on my 2016 EcoBoost. Currently, they are using 235/50/R18. Anyone have an idea what is the widest I can go or even an advice what I should get for the stock rims? I currently just have a K&N filter + MBRP Catback Exhaust. Within the next 6 months I will be upgrading the intercooler and then tunning so tires will be needed.

275 will fit on your 18 inch rim x 8 width.. however it will look tacky due to the rim width. i would recommend a 255 or a 265.

like garf mentioned, when selecting a tire, size isnt the only concern.. i personally recommend the firestone firehawk indy 500, ive noticed a handful of others on the forum have also said good things about that tire.

255 was more or less I was looking for. 275 would be too much like you said. Any links you can share for great deals?

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...PSSXLOLD&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

this is the type of tire i bought (except in 275)
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...R8FHI5XL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

i believe there is a comparison video on quite a few tires on this link

I am going to look into these... I am going to need new tires anyways within the next couple months. Going to buy all same brand, but two diff sizes. Leaving front as stock sizes 235/50 and changing the rear to the 255/40.

Is 235/50 in the front and 255/40 on the back a good combo?
