What climate control system does you car have? Curious whether AC issues may be related to the more complex dual zone HVAC system.

No, '16 & '17 Base models and '15 & '16 Track Pack models have a single zone system. All others, including Rs with AC have a dual zone system. Basically, if you have a small screen, you have a single zone system; big screen, dual zone.

Dual zone 2016 tech. Had compressor replaced last week. Started blowing warm then cold every 15 minutes after the new compressor was installed. Turns out that the coolant level was low by about 2 ounces.Had it topped up and is working fine again..actually better than new. From day one I felt the air conditioning did not run cold enough.

May I recommend adding the option "No issues" to the poll to see all of the people who are not currently running into A/C problems.

Dual zone '17 non-R. A/C compressor needed to be replaced.

That is really not the purpose of this inquiry. I am trying to determine if there is a trend indicating failures in one system over the other. Based on the results so far, that appears to be the case.

I suspect there is no difference between the two systems in terms of the refrigeration circuit (of course I could be wrong). I would think the differences are in the air handling system under the dash. When I read folks stating one side is blowing cold and the other isn't, my first thought is there is nothing wrong with the Ref. circuit, it's the air handling system that's a problem. With the dual zone, there are at least twice as many air handling things that can fail.

Excluding the 37 '15 R models, of which I have no data on how many were base models (no A/C - not that these few a number would skew the results much), for '15 & '16, based on my review of the production data, 1879 of 6205 GT350s built with AC, or 30% have the single zone system. For '17, I suspect a lower percentage of single zone, so the overall percentage would be reduced somewhat. However, the poll data indicates a much lower percentage of single zone failures compared with the numbers built. This leads me to conclude that the dual zone is more prone to failure, and that the failures experienced may not be related to the Ref. circuit itself, but the air handling circuit. Just a thought.

Dual zone. AC compressor and connection hoses were replaced at 8600 miles. Now its okay.

AC compressor is directly mounted where the engine sots. Considering how violently this engine shakes, I have a feeling the AC issues will continue to happen on this car.

After having my A/C compressor changed I no longer have the incessant whine on acceleration, but I do notice that when I push the car hard it starts to impact A/C quality. After 10-20 mins of aggressive driving the A/C wil have random bouts of warm air being blown, even when set to the lowest setting.
