Some modifications to block may be required. Sounds like a money grab to me. Would like to see someone try to do it on a 2.3L eco and see how much the extra displacement would add.

Well yeah some mods required, you need to bore out the sleeves to fit in larger pistons. The price isn't too bad seeing how it includes all bearings, I-beam rods, and custom forged pistons. Well you know they always say no replacement for displacement so it must be good lol. I had found stroker kits for the Focus ST but this is the first for the 2.3L

I'm a good 1 1/2 -2 years out from a built motor, but this might be something I keep in mind when I build my engine.

2.6L stroker with some nice aggressive cams and a bigger turbo...... oh my....

It's a 2.5L kit with standard bore (87.5mm) pistons and a 2.6L with the oversized (89mm) pistons.

It's disappointing that I didn't see it sooner. If I had known about this kit a month ago, I'd have gave it the ole' college try, but I'm not tearing back into a fresh engine.

A 2.6 with an 8374 would be mighty fine though!:headbang:

BTW - Any of you got intel on a lightened flywheel for an AT?

REgs - I don't think Esslinger needs to money grab!

Now look up ecobeast . As far as a lightened flywheel those do not stand up to the stresses .

Stroker? Our engine is already pretty much at the maximum stroke the block can give...;) If you do anything to increase displacement (e.g. boring the cylinder liners), will you need to install a bigger rotating counterweight kit if you don't want your engine to shake like a freaked out jackrabbit?!?!.

Yeah, I was thinking that. People already having an issue with windowing their blocks and boring it out will just be lighting money on fire.

Just seems like something you could technically do, but is not exactly practical or sustainable for the platform.

The block windows come from con rod failures not thinner cylinder sleeves. Con rods will fail either due to them bending under too much load, bearing failure, or retaining bolt failure.
