I had my wheels and tires balanced last week and when I picked them up this is what all 4 looked like.

Nothing I tried or the shop tried could get it off. Looks like whatever they used bleached the powder coat off or something like that.Does it come off?
They are actually buying me new ones. Being in Germany they said it would take too long and they don't want me being without my car for that long.Sounds to me like that shop just offered to have your wheels powdercoated again for you.
The cleaner they used was obviously way too powerful. They should definitely be paying to have them redone. Tell them to bump the cleaner down a notch :doh:Nothing I tried or the shop tried could get it off. Looks like whatever they used bleached the powder coat off or something like that.
haha yea I agree. Little overkill. But at least they are stepping up and buying me new ones. Kudos to them for doing what it takes to make it right. The cleaner they used was obviously way too powerful. They should definitely be paying to have them redone. I'm sure they're going to want to keep them, but that would be nice to have the spare set upKeep the old ones and plastidip/spray can them for a spare set of rubber!
Regular old brake clean wouldn't be that harmful.Brake cleaner would be my guess.
