Not entirely true. My store has 2 Rs that were both unspoken for, so my GM and I picked the build and made it least priority. But technically they are unspoken for.

No, none of you can buy them =) my dealership is one that has ended up on forum ADM threads before lol

translation: dealer does not want to sell any cars, its only logical.

I'm expecting mine with zero adm. However I may give the salesman a 1k tip just because I'm a nice guy :)

I'll trade you my 2016 Tech Package with under 1000 miles, I'll pay the difference in stickers in cash and i will also include a grand for you to put in your pocket.

My car has already had a clear bra installed, cquartz finest applied and tinted, so you get 3500 in freebies.

:)

well shouldnt all the news for the 2017 mustangs be out also? Isnt there a rear and front change to the aesthetics? i could be wrong but i thought that was happening. pricing is really the only mystery now though for the gt350, assuming the new package news is true then i just want to know what the base will cost

Ordering closes months before production ends. If they run out of orders they can always build popular combos to fill out production till shutdown.

The NY autoshow is soon, so that will likely be the earliest you will get official info on the 2017 Mustang. I wouldn't bet on it either way though.

So let's say someone was to get lucky and obtain an early 2017 allocation. When would you estimate delivery? August/September?

Those dates apply to all mustangs, so not sure if the GT350s will follow suit, was more to show there is no time to retool for a mid-year refresh.

IF the GT350s have no hiccups and are scheduled to start right away in June (assuming your allocation is one of these early builds), I dont see any reason why you wouldn't have it by end of the summer. There are some known changes to to the MY17 packages so that is the big wild card (at least for the GT350s). So the biggest questions is when will the MY17 GT350 builds start

No telling when delivery will take place?

Too many factors involved such as when your dealer places the order, priority number on the VOC, when 2016MY production shuts down and how long for retooling for the 2017MY.

In addition R model allocations may take longer than regular GT350 allocations for the 2017MY.

Lastly, from a logistical standpoint the rail and OTR truckers are a big factor as to when a vehicle will arrive at your dealer. Obviously local Michigan dealers will get their cars much sooner than say most West Coast states.

Good luck and don't count on an early delivery!

Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated. I am debating whether to take a 2016 allocation or waiting for a 2017 allocation, both from the same dealer. I'm in Chicago so maybe I get lucky and get the 2017 before snow sets in again next winter??

Is the MY16 allocation their first or one of many? If its their first and they still have not received it, I wouldn't bank on their MY17 coming in short order. If its one of many and they already have had MY16 cars delivered months ago, then I'd say there is a greater chance if you are first in line. But I agree with PP001, too early to say for sure. For MY16 there were quite a few delays and most cars did not start getting delivered until november

If you are in a financial position and maybe a couple of other factors in order to pull the trigger on a 2016 I would suggest that may be a way to go as you should be assured of having this summer to drive one of these great cars.

No telling when a 2017 may be produced for this dealership and from my standpoint you could possibly miss all this summer and all next summer waiting for a 2017.

Just something to think about and good luck with your decision!

What's not to believe? No "tooling" changes are required. Any assembly changes would be entirely procedural or be affected by suppliers which probably have started in the supply chain already. Three paints get changed out which takes just a couple of days and can happen whenever they decide to make the last Orange, Deep Impact Blue and Guard (a real shame to go) - or by pushing out the first day each new color is scheduled. Believe it or not, these plants are pretty sophisticated.

I should have quoted blondie who mentioned a possible refresh to the aesthetics (I assumed he meant a body refresh). Agreed no issue simply for the color change.
