Yes, sales of the S550 Mustang in April 2016 are almost flat from the same time last year. What belies this fact is that April of last year represented the second largest sales month to date since the introduction of the S550 program.
Down a mere 3.2% year-to-date last month, Ford Motor Company sold 12,726 Mustangs compared to 13,144 vehicles sold in April 2015 — the latter which already represented an 82% increase from the year prior.
The Ford Mustang has set a furious sales pace in the U.S. and abroad with monthly figures that continue to match sales of its two main competitors combined.
The strong sales have helped to propel Ford’s U.S. sales to a 4-percent increase in April 2016 for a total of 231,316 vehicles sold last month. Retail sales were also up 3-percent which was the best April retail sales month since 2006.
