Rumor: 2023 Mustang Will Have All-Wheel Drive Hybrid V8 (for Europe)

According to British auto magazine, Autocar, Ford will offer an all-wheel drive hybrid V8 engine for the European market starting with the 2023 Mustang.

The magazine references a U.S. patent filed by Ford Motor Company which shows a V8 petrol engine driving the rear wheels with an electric motor powering the front wheels. It speculates that Ford will only offer this hybrid V8 Mustang in Europe in order to meet the region’s strict fleet average emissions targets.

Autocar has also worked up a nice rendering (featured above) speculating on the design of the next Mustang.
