I have found that voodoo owners have very thin skin.

All the track attack GT350's had at least one engine change, many also had trans failures. Ford didn't want to put in the development time to damp the vibrations. Too bad it is a cool engine.

I don't remember hearing any of the Mach 1 track attack cars getting new engines. I know for sure that not all of them have or will.
As Hack said, the Mach 1 s have not been there long. Any track motor is going to need maintenance much quicker then a a street engine. Yes the failure rate for the 15-18 Voodoos' is a bit higher but not aw high as many think. The 19 20s are about the same as the Coyotes at this point. The Voodoo has been around for almost 9 years and the Coyote still hasn't achieved the power level of the VooDoo

It was either Warren Johnson or Bob Glidden that tried a flat plane crank pro stock engine. He abandoned it when he pulled into the beams, put it on the limiter and could not see the tree from the vibration.

I'm not knocking the voodoo but you can't get past how these engines vibrate. The vibrations cause all kinds of things to break that otherwise would not.

A FpC for dragging makes no sense. It’s a horsepower platform, not a torque monster.

That went right over your head. It was an example of how bad these things VIBRATE.

Oh, and horsepower wins races. I've never heard a top sportsman, Pro mod, Pro stock or top fuel crew chief say "man we need more torque."

GT500 jumped the gun, plus he outruns the same car later in the video. Seems like cold tires prevented any of the cars from great results.
Maybe you didn’t hear at the end where he said it was still slower at the trap speed than his GT500.

It pegged the common sense meter. Try again.
What does vibration have to do with horsepower? If the 180 degree crank makes more horsepower I can see why it was tried in a pro stock car. Remember horsepower wins races.
the GT500 walks away from him

Not a fair comparason. GT500 is supercharged the C8 is N/A.

How many FPCs do you see in top fuel, funny car, pro stock or for the more common man’s matter ‘Street Outlaws’? Torque gets you off the line, HP carries you across it…

why wasn’t the GT500 just a Voodoo with a supercharger? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not a fair comparason. GT500 is supercharged the C8 is N/A.
So, Z06 is roughly 3721 pounds curb weight, with 670hp = 5.55 lbs/hp.

GT500 is 4182 with 760hp = 5.50 lbs/hp.

It appears the two have similar weight-to-HP ratios, with the Z06 having the advantage of the engine sitting closer to the rear wheels.

Drag coefficients are likely similar… so, the Z06 technically has the slight advantage due to weight placement/transfer. Yet, what’s interesting to see, even if spinning tires (never thought I’d hear someone blame a Z06 on Sport Cup 2’s loosing traction to the king of tire shredders, the GT500… comical 😂), is that the GT500 walks away from him. The Z06 couldn’t even start a catch-up.

So, a supercharger makes this difference?.. really? Wow.

Torque gets you rolling. FPCs are notoriously lazy coming out of corners or off the line. The Horsepower takes over from there

See above. Your exaggerating the vibration. If I listen to your description none of us should be able to drive our cars for hours down the highways

It is a ZO6, not a base Corvette. And why would anyone think the GT500 had any better traction then the Corvette? 🤔

k4fxd, we got it. You think the GT350 is junk. Thanks for chiming in

Money shot!

Excuses… it appears the Z06 is not like John Wick… it can’t use a pencil and kill just as good and efficient as a with HK VP9…. It has to have care, and love, and optimal conditions, and unicorn glitter and stuff… 🤦🏻‍♂️

Buhaha… I’m still die off that argument…

Not junk, but it does have issues. I'd get a 500 long before a 350 due to the issues.

My tossing the pro stock trial with a flat plane crank was to show it is not just the voodoo that has vibration issues.

Will be interesting to see if the C8 ZO6 suffers from the same issues.
