Mustang has never ever been in the same market as Corvette. Also FPC was not Fords idea. I don't think they had our cars in mind at all when designing the new Z06. Nor do they care.

the engineers are on record ripping on the shelby then realizing their hubris once they lost a couple engines because oil filters spun off from vibrations, bro :D

Lets be honest. Any reference Chevrolet has to the Voodoo is a bigtime compliment in reality. There comparing a Corvette to a Mustang. I think that’s hilarious actually. I was out in my 500 today for the first time really, short day at work. Came across a guy in a new C8. He rolled down his window at the light and said nice car, I did the same. He then said I’m not racing, want no part of that. Lol

He had also seen me come out of the dyno tuner I use and probably figured it was way past stock. :giggle:

This is not a car-to-car comparo.., it’s an engine comparo.

Still comparing FI to NA.... theres no comparing the m6 to the c8 chassis. Again. Why are we doing this? These are the final days of the v8 muscle car and the USA is dominating the world class supercars. Let's celebrate. Ford, GM, Chrysler... who cares? What an awesome time to be a HP car guy.... err...person lol

It kind of is though. Ford put the FPC in a Mustang and Chevy is putting it in their flagship sports car/supercar, a car that the Mustang has never competed with. They could’ve put it in the ZL1 which directly competes with the Mustang’s/Shelby’s but they chose to up the ante (and kill off the Camaro). As @Inthehighdesert said, Ford should take that as a compliment. Chevy’s undies got twisted up enough that they felt they had to go to the Vette to answer Ford and the GT350.

That jab took 7 years. Ford wins regardless of the redline #'s in my opinion.

What's going on here? Ford didn't invent fpc v8 any more than GM invented magnetic (i cant spell whatever they call them) dampers. These are parts bin cars with tech stolen from f1 and le mans

point proven someone will always argue this. At the end of the day my point was that if Chevy wants to take jabs at ford over the GT350 which is also half the price of a z06 then ford can always work on the GT a bit and go right back at them. Honestly if they don’t it’s a missed opportunity they already have a phenomenal car that only needs to get rid of the V6 for a hybrid twin turbo V8.
Like I said in other news Chevy takes jab at ford, ford takes jab at chevy. it was not long ago, ford with their 400k gt was taking shots at the '18-19 zo6 c7's that were 1/4th the price.
This type thing has been going on since 1926 .
Why anyone is shocked or frankly cares shows most feed off this, and both companies know it.

The Camaro is dead… that would’ve been a waste to put millions in development in a zombie.

Your dead on there. It’s a great time to be a car guy, and sadly that may be passing. I don’t get the brand stuff either, I like them all. For reference I wish I never sold my Srt Magnum.

Hmmm slow day on the forum. Let's ask someone on the Z06 engine design team and be done with it. Kidding of course...Wouldn't want this to become shortest threat on the forum.

Not really… it’s simple addition. No Chicken Little science.

It’s known fact that Chevy has been poking fun at the Voodoo during the press teasers of the Z06, and this is prob another example.
Ford has always been the innovator. Ever since the SOHC.

Thoughts about history repeating itself. Back in 1962 to 1971 the hot cars you could buy on the show rooms are now part of Automotive muscle car history . How about a 1966 Shelby cobra 427 for $7000 or a hemi Cuda or a mustang 428 super Cobra Jet? Look at we can buy today gentlemen. I believe this fantastic array of fast current day high-performance cars ( Shelby, GT, corvette) will come to an end and we will look back at these days. Ford has great performance for our dollars . Too bad Fast Mopars and Camaro leaving us . After driving a performance Tesla it was like going on a date with a beautiful girl that didn’t speak or smile. I realize my GT350R is a find to appreciate. But more fun is my 428 cobra Jet powered 65 F100 . I captured both eras
