Ever since I was a kid I wanted a motorcycle. But really, I just wanted to go fast and have fun out on the road instead of driving beaters that were point A to point B vehicles. So about 6 years ago I bought one. An 86 700cc Intruder in pristine condition. It's been such an excellent bike!! Paid for itself several times over.

While I've only had my Mustang for two weeks as of today, I haven't really had a desire to ride the bike. And this would be the time of year I'm itching to get out and ride. It is in perfect shape, paid for, only costs $90 a year to insure, plus it used to serve as a commuter vehicle in a pinch. But again, the Mustang now gives us three cars.

Anyone run into a similar issue after buying their Mustang. A loss of interest in their motorcycle?

Thanks

Yeah I'm thinking about it.

The Mustang is just better in every way except for the whole riding something instead of riding IN something.

I got rid of my HD Roadking to get the vert. The wife and I didn't care so much for mc riding together like we once did. Since having it, I haven't missed it and I rode on average 5k miles a year or so. I figure if I do get the itch, I'll just rent one for a couple days.

I have a 2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander with barely 2000 miles on it. Put maybe 300 miles on it last year because the Mustang is so much fun to drive.

Yep. I sold my Harley Superglide to make a large down payment on my Mustang. I'm actually surprised a little bit that I don't miss it much at all; the Mustang is so much fun and a lot more comfortable in anything but perfect weather.

So my Triumph ST1050 a month after I got my mustang and now I just have the ZRX siting in the garage collecting dust.

I've had those EXACT feeling OP ... keeping my Moto Guzzi for now but yes definitely decreased my desire to ride once the GT showed up next to the bike in the garage.

I'm still thinking about it. Haven't even pulled my bike out of the shed for the season yet but I do need to start it up and do an oil change. I don't need the money but just haven't had any desire to go for a ride when I have 435hp., comfortable seats, stereo, and plenty of airbags in case of an accident....

Again, the bike was just a cheaper way to go faster and have a more enjoyable drive. But it turned out to save us thousands in missed work when one of our cars died.

I was bike-only for 10 years. I *bought* my Mustang to take the burden off me riding so much, and now I actually enjoy motorcycling a lot more!

My lack of riding has more to do with ease of access and timing. The Mustang is fun to drive but no where near as fun as my motorcycle is to ride.

I ride my H-D Low Rider every chance I get in the summer, but drive the Mustang when I have to. I agree that it's generally just as much fun as a bike, with the added convenience of HD radio and A/C. No complaints either way.

Just posted about a cross country ride from SoCal to Dallas and back on my Yamaha FJR1300.

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...for-long-distance-travel.109635/#post-2341235

The GT350 is better than the FJR1300 in MANY ways if not MOST ways. But the Yamaha FJR1300 excels in one VERY important aspect. The ease with which I can get by traffic and enjoy an unobstructed road. While the Shelby GT350 is amazing fun and better in many ways than a motorcycle. When I am on my motorcycle, I own the road, and am not subject to having to fall in line and wait behind traffic.

This is Priceless!!!

Having the Shelby in the garage definitely expands the possibilities, but it does not replace the sense of unobstructed freedom that a sport bike provides.
