I just picked mine up last week and already totally regret it. The plate i wanted raises money for bike trails, but in MO you have to pick a personalized 'number' for it. Actually you have to list 5 and they assign you one of them. I got my 5th pick. I didnt realize it would be mistaken as a political statement. Already been given shit twice about it. I dont advertise my politics, especially not on my lawn or car, so i never thought about it. So think about what you choose from every angle! Going to call the state to see if I can get new tags tomorrow.

What is it? 2024?

I like personalized plates, but I don't get them. I don't think I'm clever enough to come up with something good. Lots of amusing ideas in this thread, though.

I’ve only had maybe 3 people notice between my 3 vehicles over 5 years. The wife’s rig I left alone. If someone does notice and not say anything, I’d guess 99.9%’of the time we’re like minded. The folks that I don’t want to be associated with, would never notice. And that’s perfectly fine with me.

Custom plates up here in the great white north have a one-time cost of $250 more than regular plates. Hey, it costs a lot for a universal health care system that doesn't bankrupt you but also doesn't work.

On the way home I had found myself behind a Land Rover Discovery. Either his last name or initials had something to do with "TUR", but I don't think he anticipated the end product.

*Edit...What I originally thought was "TUR 01" was in-fact "TURO1". But Colorado squares the "O"; it looks like a "D", hence "TURD1", aka the TURDmobile.

So ya, if considering a plate, mock something up before committing the funds.

We have two personalized plates, the Mustang is "1 R0J0 1" because R0J0 1 was already taken, it is the first two letters of her first name and the first two letters of our last name.

The Ram 1500 Ecodiesel has "M0PAR 0" because M0PAR and M0PAR 1 were both already used.

Florida limits you to only 6 letters/numbers on the plate with the letter "O" not used so it is not confused with the number "0".

The cost of one is stupid in Texas. You have to continuously pay for it. That's the main reason I haven't done one.

Wow some states get screwed for vanity plates haha.. where I’m at it is $100 to get them and then $25-30 a year. No big deal. I like them, fun for car shows and for being different. 100’s of thousands of mustangs on the road. Nice to not be the same as everyone else

Virginia is $10 extra a year for personalized plates. So my Mustang has “NAA P51D”

My son is not an aviation enthusiast He knew a P51 was a Mustang, but didn’t know they were made by North American Aviation. So he thought I was trying to say it was Not An Actual P51.
