Does anybody really use a torque wrench to tighten their filter?

I never have.. However, I have removed several where I wished the numb nuts that installed had used one! LOL :frusty:

Yes! It was all I could do to get mine loosened through the little door. It was 800lb gorilla tight.

Seriously. Just a little bit past hand tight is plenty. 16-18 torques is basically nothing.

It's funny - when I was an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force, I learned quickly that using a torque wrench was more about making sure I didn't OVER torque something, versus making sure I torqued it enough.

I was young...I had a lot of natural torque. :D
